Wedding Cakes and their flavorsThis is a cake that I thought I could not do ahead of time... all those drop string's were - well to much... With God's
guidance and help from Pat Daigle we put together a beautiful cake. Each cake had different flavors... The very top layer
was butter yellow, below that one was Italian Cream Cake with cream cheese filling, next was butter pecan and last was french
vanilla. The cake over all was gorgeous! Lita thanks so much for allowing me to make your wedding cake...

Back to school!Vacation for kids has come and gone! Our family had a great summer and even though I don't miss the excess cleaning
of the home - cups everywhere, sleeping till noon etc... I do miss the quite mornings that I had. Now it's... get up we
have to be at school in 45 min., eat breakfast, brush your teeth etc... Well you know it's always got to be something
and I like it that way... Later, Mary Lou

Health InspectionsO.K. so this was my first year in the cake business! I had no clue what to expect in my first health inspection. To my
surprise the health inspector shows up unannounced looks around the place while I am nervously trying to take care of customers,
take care of students and then him. Then here it comes... I am in no hurry please take your time he says; I am done and will
wait on you. Then I get done - take a seat to face him... I look over the list that he has and boy is it a list.
I never knew a list like that existed. As he begins to explain to me that all was well; a sigh of relief swept over
me! I am thrilled to say I received a score of 100 points... Now, understand I am thrilled but it now sets a presidents
for next year and you all know that cake decorating is a messy job all of the sugar and baking that goes on... To all that
received great scores hats off to you! You worked hard for those high scores and believe me I know... it's hard
work! You can check out the list here www.kfdm.com click on restaurant report... I did not realize that so many folks
look at this. I am not one of them... I just check things out for myself and let the atmosphere guide me! Cheers,
Mary Lou

Traveling to Day's of SharingIf you have never gone to a Day of Sharing... Well you need to go and see what all the excitement is about. Since I
found out about them in the last four years I have gone to plenty of places. Mostly to Austin because my mother-n-law and
sister-n-law leave there. A Day of Sharing is all about learning cake technique's and to share what you feel would
benefit someone. Since I have attended more than I can count... I must say I now go to be around great friends and good
eats.

Cake ClassesCake classes are a great way to meet new friends and fresh air from your everyday routine. I just finished teaching another
successful class for course 1 and course 2. The ladies learned the basics which is great to learn if you want to have
a leveled cake. Some folks just want to jump into gumpaste and fondant and that my friend is a no no. First, you
must always get the basics in; even if you been self taught. You never know what you have missed in between.
